This is the extraordinary Olympia SM9 De Luxe manual typewriter which was manufactured in Western Germany in 1970 (serial no. 400060). This typewriter has been very well kept, preserved, and protected for 50 years. Olympia machines are known to be a top-of-the-line midsize portable, the SM9 was Olympia's defining machine. Olympia made 4 different versions of the SM9; that's how dedicated they were to perfecting this model.

Universal ribbons fit this machine. For your convenience, a fresh new bichrome ribbon has been installed for immediate use.

The travel case is in good condition,with some minor chips in the back, felt lining interior and working closure. The metal body has minimal signs of age-related usage but does not affect performance in any way.
