About the Collection
This is a catalog of Iconic Typewriters — not just as machines, but as artifacts of how we used to think on paper. Each entry includes notes on condition, history, and character.
The Collector
We've been acquiring, restoring, and studying typewriters for over three decades. What started as a single Hermes 3000 from a Goodwill store has grown into a collection spanning nearly a century of typewriter design.
Why This Site Exists
Most typewriter sites fall into two camps: enthusiast forums with deep knowledge but dated design, or aesthetic shops selling romance without reality. This site lives in between — machines documented honestly, presented with care.
Understanding Statuses
- Available — The machine is for sale
- Sold — No longer available, but kept in the archive
- Archive — Permanently in the collection, not for sale
- On Loan — Temporarily with another collector
- In Collection — Happily retired to the shelves, but always on display
Preserving culturally, historically, and aesthetically significant typewriters — for sale, for restoration, and for the love of the craft.
There's nothing quite like the sound of a typewriter. It gives your writing its own soundtrack. Check out
