1937 Royal Model 'O' (Touch Control)

Fred Rogers, of 'Mister Rogers' Neighborhood' fame, often wrote letters to his fans on a Royal 'O' typewriter.

This is a breathtaking and stunningly beautiful Royal Model 'O' typewriter with silver keytops, original duo-case, and cleaning brush. This is a pre-war machine and was manufactured in 1937 (serial no. O-706393). All photos have been taken with natural outdoor lighting for an authentic visual appearance.

This typewriter weighs 7.4 lbs (11.2 lbs with the case) and measures 11x12.5x4.5 inches. This typewriter uses universal ribbons and for your convenience fresh new ribbon has been installed on the original metal ribbon spools for immediate use. It has a two-color ribbon selection, including a stencil position, and ribbon direction setting. It features an Elite typeface at 10 characters per inch. The 'Touch Control' goes from light to heavy, depending on your typing preference. It types words very smooth and crisp. The decals are in excellent shape, as well as the platen and feed rollers. This typewriter also comes with its original carrying duo-case, and wooden cleaning brush, which is stored inside the case.

This terrific vintage typewriter is in near-mint shape, with a beautiful glossy piano-black paint finish and clear glass keys which still shines like it just came out of the factory yesterday. The paint shines and reflects on every surface like a mirror. The paint, decals, and labels are in excellent shape and aren't worn, which is especially rare despite its age. You may find yourself dusting this typewriter often. Use a microfiber cloth which works best for this kind of paint. The fingerprints and the smallest amounts of dust will be pronounced.
