1966 Smith-Corona Galaxie II

Cosmetically, it's in fine shape and in great working condition.

This is a nice Smith-Corona Galaxie II portable typewriter made in 1966 (serial number 6T2-221763). This typewriter has been very well kept, preserved, and protected for over 50 years. It's American-made and a common and popular machine, and is one of our favorites to use especially for heavy typing.

It measures 14x13x6 inches and weighs 21 lbs (with the vinyl Samsonite case). It comes with the original case key.

The Galaxie II is in flawless shape and in fantastic working condition. This typewriter is a superb workhorse and works great right down to the bell. This model is very easy to use and maintain and uses universal ribbons (a huge plus). For your convenience, a bichrome ribbon has been installed for immediate use.

With a host of excellent features, it has effortless control, full English 88-character keyboard, jeweled escapement, cushioned return lever, line indicator, special interchangeable key (marked in red), Page Gage, Quick-Set margins, and personal touch selector (toggles between light, medium, and heavy key strikers). Indeed, this is a robust full manual typewriter with easily accessible and easy-to-use functionalities: tabs setting, power-space, and ribbon color switching. It is also an aesthetically beautiful machine -- particularly the vibrancy of the two-tone green enamel paint finish and the aluminum carriage knobs, including the green platen. This machine has all the bells and whistles and would be a great typewriter for the person who wants to type on a regular basis. It comes with crisply uniform letters and super-modern Elite typeface.

Out of all typewriters in our collection, this is one of the most reliable and dependable machines for heavy use.
